Melissa feels privileged to work with children (8+), adolescents (12+), and adults (18+) in the field of counselling psychology. She is deeply passionate about the relationships formed within the therapeutic space and the learning and unlearning that unfolds through them, allowing new life experiences to become available.

Education & Background

Melissa is a Registered Psychologist in Saskatchewan (#1245). She holds a Bachelor of Arts (Psychology) and a Master’s Degree in Counselling (Counselling Psychology).

Throughout a varied career, Melissa has been privileged to support individuals across the lifespan in a variety of settings, including early childhood and public education, post-secondary collaborative healthcare, and private-sector mental health services.

Therapeutic Approach

Melissa believes that people naturally strive toward wellbeing in their lives. She takes an integrative and collaborative approach to counselling, drawing on evidence-based, client-centred practices that consider developmental, social, and cultural contexts.

Passionate about nurturing relationships, fostering agency, and cultivating hope, Melissa connects with clients through curiosity, openness, mindfulness, and compassion. Her practice is informed by postmodern and relational theories, as well as contextual and behavioural science. She strives to offer support that aligns with each client’s preferences while remaining committed to responsive and ethical care.

The therapeutic approaches that shape Melissa’s work include Narrative Therapy, Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT), Emotionally Focused Therapy (EFT), and Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT).
