I believe in providing a safe, compassionate, and non-judgemental space where people can share openly and explore the difficult and painful parts of life. I see therapy as a collaboration between clients and myself where clients are empowered to grow, heal, and create lasting change in their lives. Witnessing transformation in the lives of my clients is a great privilege, and I feel a deep sense of joy and gratitude to be a part of this experience.
I work with children, adolescents, and adults in the areas of anxiety, obsessive-compulsive disorder, body focused repetitive behaviours (skin picking, hair pulling, etc.), depression, relationship concerns, work concerns, parenting issues, life transitions, self-worth, spirituality, and chronic health conditions. I am also registered to provide counselling through the Non-Insured Health Benefits (NIHB) program.
My Approach
I believe that the therapeutic relationship between client and counsellor creates a safe place for healing, and the therapeutic approach provides the tools needed for change. In my practice, I utilize a variety of evidence-based therapies including Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT), Exposure and Response Prevention (ERP), Habit reversal training (HRT), Comprehensive Behavioural (ComB) Treatment, Dialectical Behavioral Therapy (DBT), and Narrative Therapy.
I believe in providing education to clients on treatment options and approaches and collaborating with them to find the best fit. I also value feedback from clients to guide and inform the treatment process and to ensure they experience meaningful change.
Educational and Professional Background
I am a Registered Psychologist practicing in the area of counselling psychology and hold the Authorized Practice Endorsement (APE) for assessment and diagnosis. I completed a Bachelor’s degree in psychology and a Master’s degree in School and Counselling Psychology. During the eight years of practice in the human services and mental health field, my experience included community counselling services and support work with youth in residential settings.
