My Approach
I have a passion for helping clients develop an enhanced understanding of their personal and unique patterns of learning. I take a strength-based, positive, and comprehensive approach to assessment. Within the psycho-educational assessment report, I provide evidence-based recommendations tailored to support each person’s unique profile. Recommendations may focus on school, work and/or home interventions.
At this time, my main areas of focus in private practice include Attention Deficit Hyperactivity Disorder, Specific Learning Disorders (learning disabilities), and Intellectual Disabilities. Currently, I am offering assessments to teens and adults virtually/online, in collaboration with Horizon Psychological & Counselling Services.
Professional Background
I have experience providing consultations and assessments within the K-12 school system as well as within post-secondary settings. My experience includes conducting assessments with clients from the ages of 7 to 60+. I have completed assessments in person as well as remotely/online. I am knowledgeable about supports and accommodations that are beneficial to students attending elementary, high school, and post-secondary institutions. Oftentimes I also include recommendations pertaining to other areas of life, such as at work and at home.
I am currently working part-time as a Registered Psychologist for a rural school division, with a focus on psycho-educational assessments and consultations. Previously, I was employed at Saskatchewan Polytech for several years as Accessibility Consultant/Registered Psychologist, providing support, consultations, and assessments to adult learners.
I have a Bachelor of Psychology (Honours) and a Masters Degree in Education (Educational Psychology). I am a full practicing member of the Saskatchewan College of Psychologists. I hold Authorized Practice Endorsement (APE), which allows me to provide a diagnosis to clients, when appropriate.
