Therapy, by its very nature, is an unusual conversation.
Its methods are unusual. But the unusual serves the purpose,
namely, evocative impact.- Jeff Zeig
Starting counselling can be stressful in itself. This initial step requires courage and some willingness to step out of your comfort zone. I want to make this process as safe and comfortable for you as possible. I believe in the therapeutic power of relationships and strive to create an atmosphere of respect, open communication and compassion.
As a counsellor, I am honoured to work with people who wish to address the challenges that have become a difficult reality in their lives. I support my clients in recognizing their needs, pathways for personal growth, and specific means for attaining goals.
I focus my work on the areas of anxiety, stress management, depression, relationship problems, adjustment to adversity and recent life changes (separation and divorce, career/vocational changes, moves, and illness). In addition, I work with those who wish to address problematic sexual behaviour or addiction problems.
My Approach
I enjoy helping my clients find their strengths and create balance in their lives. My counselling is client-centered and strength-based, offered in a caring and confidential environment. I believe in a collaborative and open approach in working with clients as we address issues and pursue the clients’ goals. Together, we can face your concerns. You have strengths that we will draw and build upon to assist you in achieving your desired outcomes. We will find the barriers and patterns that may be keeping you from reaching your goals. We will help you build skills and bring balance to your life.
